The 2025 Alumni Reunion Festival, held on Saturday 11 October in the CM Wood Centre, brought together a vibrant cross-section of Tintern’s community for an afternoon rich in connection and nostalgia. Sixty-five Alumnae, along with former and current staff, gathered to celebrate milestone reunions for the Classes of 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2000.
From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Many took the opportunity to enjoy refreshments and join campus tours, revisiting familiar spaces and sharing memories that stretched across decades.
An official welcome from Tintern’s Principal Brad Fry set the tone for the afternoon, acknowledging the significance of the occasion and the strength of our Alumni community. One attendee summed up the spirit of the day perfectly: ‘There’s something special about being back here – so many memories come flooding back the moment you walk in.’
A key feature of this year’s festival was the introduction of Tintern’s 150th Anniversary Stories Project. Alumni were invited to contribute their memories, milestones and reflections as part of the School’s sesquicentenary celebrations in 2027.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Community and Alumni Manager Alastair Lee, said, ‘Bringing these year groups together was truly memorable. The atmosphere was joyful and heartfelt, and it was wonderful to witness so many meaningful reconnections. Events like this highlight the enduring strength of our Alumni community.’
The Alumni Reunion Festival once again demonstrated the deep sense of belonging that continues long after graduation and set a positive tone as Tintern looks ahead to celebrating 150 years of learning, connection and community.
